Happy, happy, yum, yum

This little card came together rather quickly.  I really like when that happens.

I began with some scrap over spray paper, cropped out an area I liked and added a little machine stitching.  Kara Nichols' new image Yum, Yum is colored with watercolors. I took the liberty of replacing Yum's snack with an ice cream cone from my tiny handhelds cube. On a tiny tag I stamped happy, happy.  A little washi tape and text scrap for contrast completes the composition.  Four lime brads anchor the image to the card.

Tuck in a gift card for your favorite ice cream shop and you are good to go!
Yum, yum!

Something old, something new

The Fleur de Girl image is the very first stamp I designed for Stampotique.  She's still one of my favorite images and her essence still appears in some of my current designs.

The medium sunflower is one of my newest images for Stampotique. The combination of old and new work well together in this whimsical scene.

After stamping and coloring the old and new images with Copics, I clear embossed them to stand against a muted collage from scraps.

I stamped bushes on patterned paper to add some depth to the composition.

I hope it inspires you to take out an early stamp and combine it with a new image!

Enjoy the little things

Have you been enjoying our blog hop and new image release this week?  If you have just stumbled upon this post you will find the blog hop on my previous post.

The design team has been busy creating new projects to inspire you.

Today I'd like to share a little altered tin featuring Magda Polakow's  new image Agatha's star.  I sanded and painted the tin with a base of yellow acrylic paint.  After drying, I used StazOn to stamp Agatha. I masked her off to stencil and design the background, then painted Agatha.  Scraps of paper were glued on for the quote.  Lid is further accented with paint pens and Pitt marker detail.

This little altered tin is perfect for a portable watercolor tin or just to hold the tiny little things.

Thanks for stopping by.

Throwback Thursday

Maison des fleurs

Maison des fleurs is a lovely little garden house that is complete with topiaries growing out of polka dot high heals.

The garden home is surrounded by Abby's hearts. In the sky hangs nuage 1 and 2 , a double sided stamp.

I began with a 6x6"square card.  Maison des fleurs was stamped with Memento tuxedo black. A Pitt pen was used to create a loose border.  After masking the bottom edge with a post-it note  I stamped Abby's hearts. COPICS and a touch a Prima color pencils were used to color.   I stamped and cut addition hearts and raised them with silicone adhesive. Nuage 1 and 2 were also stamped on another paper, cut and placed with silicone adhesive.  Edges of the border were treated with collage scraps.

It's a light and breezy card for a birthday, new home, or just a happy hello.
Hope you like it.

Hearts don't have to be red

Just a messy tag for today.
I like to work this way and I think the style lends itself to the loose freehand of the heart image.

Layers of paint, stencils, Dylusions sprays, pencil and Pitt pen scribble provide a colorful background for my "love you heart" stamp from Stampotique.
Make several tags at once and see which ones speak to you.  Set the rest aside and perhaps they will provide inspiration on another day.

Hearts don't have to be red.  Enough said.
